Passlock security

A local password vault with clear trust boundaries.

Passlock is built around macOS Keychain storage, browser-only planning tools, hosted checkout, and support that never needs your secrets.

Contact support

Local-first vault

The Passlock macOS app stores saved passwords in macOS Keychain on your device. The product is built around local storage instead of a Passlock-hosted password database.

No web-page secret collection

The free tools are designed for categories, checklists, and generated plans. They should not receive passwords, recovery codes, private keys, vault exports, or account numbers.

Hosted checkout boundary

Checkout runs through ReleaseFlow and Polar. Passlock does not ask for card details on this site, and purchase delivery is handled by the checkout flow.

Measured website, local secrets

The marketing site uses product analytics for page views, referrals, and checkout events. Those events are separate from the local password vault and should never include secret values.

Data handling

What belongs where

The safest security product is specific about boundaries. Your vault, planning tools, checkout, analytics, and support should not be treated as the same data surface.

Passlock app

  • Stores vault items in macOS Keychain.
  • Designed for local use without a Passlock account.
  • Does not give Passlock staff a recovery path into your saved passwords.

Free web tools

  • Generate checklists, reports, and plans in the browser.
  • Avoid account names, real passwords, recovery codes, and private documents.
  • Copy/export output only when you are ready to store it somewhere safe.

Website and checkout

  • Uses analytics to understand visits, referrals, and conversion flow.
  • Sends checkout to ReleaseFlow and Polar for payment handling.
  • Uses email support for purchase, refund, and product questions.

Safe-use checklist

  • Do not paste passwords, master passwords, recovery keys, backup codes, security answers, vault exports, or private keys into any Passlock web tool.
  • Use broad account categories like email, banking, work, family, or device ecosystem instead of real account names.
  • Open sensitive services directly from a bookmark or typed address when a guide tells you to verify an account.
  • Store exported checklists somewhere private and review who can access that storage location.

Security questions

Can Passlock read my saved passwords?

Passlock is built around macOS Keychain storage on your device. The public site does not provide a cloud vault or staff-accessible recovery path for saved passwords.

Are the security tools safe for real passwords?

They are safe because they do not need real secrets. Treat the tools as planning helpers and use categories, counts, and checklist answers instead of secret values.

What should I include in a support request?

Include your macOS version, Passlock version, purchase email if relevant, and a short description of the issue. Do not send passwords, recovery codes, vault exports, or screenshots that reveal secrets.

Need help?

Support without secrets.

Send product, purchase, or refund questions without passwords, backup codes, vault exports, or private screenshots.
